Immigration NZ has released a post recently regarding a glitch in the system as follows,
Immigration New Zealand is aware of an issue where some employers who applied to renew their accreditation have not received interim accreditation when their current accreditation expired. Any approved and unused job tokens for these employers have also expired.
We apologise for this issue and the inconvenience it has caused. As soon as we were made aware of the issue, we started work to identify a solution. The IT solution is complex, but we are working to resolve this as quickly as possible. We will continue to keep affected employers and their advisers updated as we work through the issue.
Employers whose accreditation expired while their renewal application is being processed can continue to employ migrants who currently work for them on a valid visa. However, they cannot submit new Job Check applications and applications for Job Checks and Accredited Employer Work Visas they have in progress are unable to be approved. If any affected employers have AEWV workers with visas expiring soon, they or their adviser can contact our Customer Service Centre.
In many cases, this issue is affecting renewal applications made in the days before the accreditation expired, and the necessary checks could not be completed to grant interim accreditation before the expiry date.
They are requesting to apply early to avoid disappointment .
We encourage all employers and their advisers to apply to renew their accreditation at least six weeks before it expires.
Please note that employer accreditation expires automatically at the start of the expiry date. The latest employers or their advisers must submit their application is the day before the expiry date.
For faster application processing, employers or their advisers should include supporting documents with their application that shows:
evidence of being a viable and genuinely operating business or organisation
compliance with business standards
settlement support for their AEWV employees.
If this information is not provided and we need to request it, the application will take longer to process.
