Immigration Rebalance

You must be aware that Immigration has been undergoing lots of changes in the last few months, rather some of them have been in the offing for the last few months.

Some call it "Immigration rebalancing". We are reaching out to you as some of these changes will directly affect your ability to hire new migrant workers for roles in the future. So what's changing, and how will it affect you- As of now

  • NZ border will fully reopen by 1 Aug 2022

  • Essential work visa will close on 3rd July 22

  • All work visa categories, including the new Accredited Employer work visa (AEWV) will open 4 July 22

  • Available mainly to workers earning over median wage ($27.76)

  • Some roles in the Hospitality/Tourism/ Construction/Infrastructure/Care , may have a lower median around the $25 mark

  • A new Green list of occupations will be available for employers to hire & attract migrants for high skilled roles.

Businesses are encouraged to train, up skill and hire New Zealand workers before they hire migrants. If you are an employer and you cannot find suitable New Zealanders for a role, you can apply to hire migrants on the Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV). You need to get accredited to show you are a viable business and you meet employment and immigration standards. So in case you are looking at hiring new migrants for your business, you have to be "Accredited"

We are a licensed Immigration business who can work with you to get this streamlined, and then assist in the process as required. We are currently working with a few businesses in the country to get them accredited, and are happy to work with you as well
